Digital Academy 2024: Language Models in Digital Humanities Research (Open Space Day)

Open to all! Our Open Space Day (via Zoom), as part of the Digital Academy 2024: ‘Language Models in Digital Humanities Research’ – 5 September 2024.

The Digital Academy invites you to exchange ideas about data-driven research and digital working techniques. This year’s Digital Academy is dedicated to assessing the implementation of language models in the Digital Humanities. Within the last few years, we have seen technology rapidly change and develop, which has led to remarkable performance and advancements in diverse areas. We want to explore the potential that emerges with the usage of language models and at the same time discuss how to deal with challenges and critically assess how computational methods and interdisciplinary settings may affect traditional work processes in the humanities.

As part of this annual event, we invite you to take part in the Open Space Day on the 5th of September 2024 via zoom. In an interview setting, Tobias Hodel, Mareike Schumacher and Barbara McGillivray will give insights to how they experience working with language models in this field.
